Catch Up & Read (CAR)

A white stylized book with an ampersand above it is centered on a bright teal circle with the words %22CATCH UP%22 and %22READ%22 in white text above and below the book, respectively.

  Lead Teacher: Ms. Muntz
Grade Levels: 1st through 3rd Grade
   Day(s): Tuesdays and Wednesdays
  Times: 3:30 - 5:30 P.M.

Catch Up & Read’s mission is to equip children in underserved communities to read on grade level by the end of 3rd grade so they can graduate from high school and break the generational cycle of poverty.

Why 3rd Grade?
Third grade is a pivotal moment for students as they shift from “learning to read” to “reading to learn”. According to The Nation’s Report Card, less than half of third graders in the U.S. are reading on grade level. This gap provides an opportunity for Catch Up & Read and school districts to partner and align around key metrics that will bolster student academic achievement.
